AW, other news and Monster Munch

I’ve been meaning to talk more about AW for ages. While things are quiet, it’s a good time to do so.

I joined about five years ago and I guarantee I wouldn’t be anywhere near as good as I am (no false modesty on my blog hahaha) without the people there, their advice, opinions on my work and their guidance. If you want to be a writer, then I strongly suggest you register here and get involved. (main site) (board to say hello and introduce yourself) (newbie’s guide)

Writing is obviously a solitary job for much of the time. Talking to people who are doing the same is a big help, and let’s not forget making friends with new people I wouldn’t have ‘met’ otherwise.

In other news, good stuff going on with Harwood as you may have noticed from a particular comment recently. I’ve come up with a new start for Belham which is a load better than the original snore fest, and I’ve got the first few scenes sorted which I’m chuffed about. The characters are a little different to any I’ve written before; I had a hard job at first getting to know them, but they’ve found their voices now and things are coming together. And let’s not forget my map which looks like the scribbles of a drunk toddler. And no, I’m not going to post a photo of it. Although I’m happy to sell a signed copy of it.

Bidding starts at a pack of beef Monster Munch.

  1. Will you accept the dregs of a bag of microwave popcorn?

  2. Sorry. I have to be be firm. It's Monster Munch or no deal, I'm afraid.
